NOTICE OF RACE

Start:

14:00 Warning

Location:

Near Red/White Bell “AR”

Registration:

Complete the Registration Form and return it with Entry Fee to the Annisquam Yacht Club no later than Friday, July 30, 2010.

Entry Fee:

$15 ($20 for non-US Sailing members)

Race management:

The Annisquam Yacht Club will assume race management responsibilities.

Rules and Scoring:

The current Racing Rules of Sailing - 2009-2013 (“RRS 2009-2012”) as adopted by the US Sailing Association will govern this event except where specified otherwise in the Sailing Instructions. Scoring will be according to the Low Point System. In the event that 6 or more races are run, there will be one throw-out allowed.

Eligibility:

The Ipswich Bay Laser Championship is open to all competitors. There will be one class.

Prizes:

Trophies will be awarded for first through fifth. In order to receive a prize, however, you must beat at least one competitor. A permanent trophy will be engraved with the winner of the Open Class. This trophy will be kept at the Annisquam Yacht Club.

After Race Activities:

Prizes will be awarded at the Annisquam Yacht Club following the race. Complimentary snacks and refreshments will be provided.

SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

Starting line:

Ipswich Bay near the Red/White Bell “AR”

 

Starting line defined by a staff displaying an orange flag on the port side of the Annisquam Yacht Club Committee boat called the Great Blue and pin end marked by orange buoy.

Starting sequence:

Rule 26 of the racing rules governs the start. For example:

Course:

A – Windward Leeward
B – Triangle
C – Triangle Windward Leeward
F – Windward Leeward with Offset Mark to Port

 

All Marks must be left to port side.

Finish line:

Finish line defined by a staff displaying a blue flag on starboard side of Annisquam Yacht Club Committee Boat called the Great Blue and pin end marked by orange buoy.

Length:

The length of the race will be defined by wind conditions.

Changes:

The Race Committee may shorten the course (Code flag S) by finishing the race at any mark on the course.

Scoring:

The Race Committee will score the races according to the Low Point System as defined in RRS 2009-2012, Appendix A.

Protests:

The Annisquam Yacht Club Protest Committee will hear protests. Protests must be filed within thirty (30) minutes of the last yacht’s finish and on a form provided by the protest committee. Boats intending to file protests must secure acknowledgement of it from the AYC Race Committee at the finish line.

Radio Contact: The Race Committee will monitor Club Channel 67
